Does my water heater need an anode rod?
All residential water heaters come with a sacrificial anode rod from the factory. It depletes over time. If your tank is 3+ years old and the anode has never been replaced, the answer is almost certainly yes. The aurauto TGR2-X1 is a permanent, powered replacement that never depletes.
How often should I replace my anode rod?
Traditional magnesium or aluminum anode rods need replacement every 3-5 years. The aurauto TGR2-X1 powered titanium anode is permanent —no replacement required. Once installed, it protects the tank for the full life of the water heater.
Is the installation difficult?
The Standard Kit installs in about 5 minutes with the included sockets (1-1/16" to remove the old rod, 1-3/16" to install the TGR2-X1). Bradford White tanks use the Bradford White Kit and its tee fittings at the hot water outlet — see the installation guide. A QR code in every package links to a step-by-step video. No electrical permit required (it plugs into a standard 110V outlet).
Does it fit Bradford White water heaters?
Yes — choose the Bradford White Installation Kit on the TGR2-X1 page. Most Bradford White tanks mount the anode in the hot water outlet; the kit includes three pre-assembled tee fittings for that path. The Standard Kit is for dedicated anode ports only.
